2019 LDP Award Winners
WINNER: For the innovative rework of the Cardinal Health EMERGE program’s cost of living adjustment process, leading to reduced costs, increased transparency and growth of additional rotations.
FIRST RUNNER-UP: In recognition of GE’s innovative NextTech Challenge program – A cooking-inspired competition for leadership development program participants to bring thought power to GE’s “Zero Touch IT” initiative.
SECOND RUNNER-UP: For performing a successful program recalibration of Medtronic’s development program while maintaining continuity with existing program participants and interns.
What is the LDP Innovation Award?
The LDP Innovation Award recognizes outstanding initiative and creativity in contributing to the measurable success of an early career talent development program and the program’s participants. The initiative can be in any element of managing or recruiting for a development program for early career professionals.

Leadership Development Program Manager
Angelisse Canady manages High Potential Programs for Lockheed Martin including the early career Leadership Development Program, diverse leadership focused Program Management Talent Initiative (PMTI) and Lead and Innovate for Tomorrow (LIFT), a program centered on the development of cross functional high potential senior managers. She has over 12 years’ experience with Lockheed Martin, holding various positions within Corporate Talent Management, HR Business Partner, EEO/Diversity, Labor Relations and Staffing. Mrs. Canady is a proud military wife. Her husband Marcus currently serves as a Commander in the United States Coast Guard assigned as the head of Operations at Air Station Corpus Christi. They have two children who keep them very busy and blessed.
Director, Organizational Effectiveness
Brenden Beckstein is an Organization Effectiveness leader at Raytheon where he partners with business and HR leadership to enable strategic organization culture change that drives increased business results. Over the past 20 years, Brenden’s held a variety of learning and development and talent management roles at Raytheon, Thermo Fisher Scientific, and Liberty Mutual where he demonstrates his passion for helping organizations, teams, and employees grow and succeed. He also teaches Organizational Behavior at Merrimack College and is a proud graduate of Providence College. He’s earned master’s degrees in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from the University of New Haven and Louisiana State University and is ABD (all but dissertation) from LSU.
Head of Human Resources
Farah Bernier is the Head of Human Resources for Google’s Android, Pixel, Play, Wear and Unicorn Product Area, and Founder & Principal Coach of Farah Bernier Coaching. Based on her extensive human resources and talent management experience, Ms. Bernier consults with senior leaders in the organization to assess both business and individual progression and partners across leadership teams to define and execute on agreed upon individual and team strategies for success. Ms. Bernier frequently delivers workshops on cultural dexterity, personal branding, and other various professional development focus areas. Ms. Bernier is a graduate of Boston College’s Carroll School of Management, earned her MBA in Global Studies and Entrepreneurship from Babson College, and her CPC and ELI-MP through the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching.
